CASA IN LOUISIANA
A statewide network
of volunteers
for children
Each year, over 5,000 children in Louisiana experience abuse or neglect, ushering them into the dependency of the court and foster care systems. The 18 local CASA programs work in dozens of courtrooms across all 42 Judicial Districts and advocate for our state’s most vulnerable children.

LOCAL PROGRAM ROLE
Empowering volunteers to change lives
Local program staff, including dedicated Advocate Supervisors, guide volunteers through every step of their advocacy journey. These supervisors not only offer personalized support during cases but also facilitate comprehensive pre-service training and continuing education opportunities to prepare and empower volunteers for this critical work. From the first day of training to the resolution of a child’s case, local CASA programs are steadfast partners in advocacy, equipping volunteers with the tools and guidance they need to make a meaningful impact.
Recruit
Local programs connect with passionate individuals who are eager to make a difference in the lives of children in foster care. By engaging communities, they ensure every child has a voice in court and beyond.
Train
Local staff facilitate pre-service training to equip volunteers with the knowledge and skills they need to advocate confidently and effectively. Ongoing in-service training ensures volunteers remain informed and prepared.

Support
Advocate Supervisors provide one-on-one guidance, offering resources, support, and encouragement to ensure volunteers are confident and effective in their advocacy efforts.
