About the event
Please join Volunteers for Youth Justice for  an informal mixer to learn about CASA and how YOU can potentially help LGBTQ+ foster children in the area.
Local CASA programs recruit, train and supervise Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers to advocate for children involved in the child welfare system and improve their well-being. LGBTQ+ children could greatly benefit from queer affirming volunteers who can advocate for them, empathize with them, and support them.
Contact Sam Ortiz, 318-773-4995 for more infromation about the event.
Visit vyjla.org if you would like more information about their program.
Fatty Arbuckles is graciously providing snacks and the bar will be open for you to purchase drinks if you would like. This is an informational so no commitment is required. VYJ staff will be there if you are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer.
