Child Well-being: Understanding Ages and Stages
The first in this public educational online seminar series, the presentation will provide a framework for indicators of well-being in children and adolescents, identify normal developmental milestones for children and adolescents, and offer evidence-based interventions to use when a child's development has been impacted by maltreatment.
About the Speakers: Dr. Traci Olivier & Dr. Steven Felix
Traci W. Olivier, PsyD, specializes in the neuropsychological evaluation of children and adolescents with complex medical/neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders. She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology, with an emphasis on neuropsychology, from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Dr. Olivier completed an internship in pediatric neuropsychology and consultation at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by a postdoctoral clinical and research fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. After fellowship, she returned home to Louisiana and served as a staff neuropsychologist and program director of the Neurobehavioral Medicine Division at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health – Pediatric Development & Therapy Center. Dr. Olivier is currently in private practice in Baton Rouge, LA.
Steven Felix, MD, trained in Pediatrics at Oakland Naval Hospital and completed his fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Felix has 28 years of experience and is known for developing and growing clinics involved in the assessment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders. After serving as a Commander in the United States Navy and a pediatrician in U.S. Naval Hospitals both at home (Maryland) and abroad (Spain), he went on to develop a Neonatal Follow-up Clinic at the Floating Hospital for Children - Tufts University - in Boston, MA. Dr. Felix has developed clinics and programs in several medical centers throughout the United States. He most recently served as the medical director of the Pediatric Development & Therapy Center at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health. Dr. Felix specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disorders (LDs), developmental delays, and concerns related to prematurity. Dr. Felix is in private practice in Baton Rouge, LA.
