This award honors a legislator dedicated to Louisiana CASA, recognizing their exceptional commitment to legislation benefiting children in the child welfare system. The recipient actively champions policies prioritizing children's well-being, contributing significantly to CASA's mission and ensuring the voices of vulnerable children are heard and valued in the legislative process.
All current legislators affiliated with a local CASA program are eligible for this award.
All nominations are due by March 20, 2026.
Nominee's Information
Letters of Support
A letter of support from an executive director, program director, or program coordinator, is required. The second letter of support may come from those listed above or anyone who is associated with the program, e.g. staff, volunteer, board member, or community professional.
What to include in the letters of support:
-How they supported legislative measures to improve outcomes for children in the child welfare system.
-How they raise awareness about the challenges faced by abused and neglected children
-Their work in the community and support of CASA
