Developing a Case Plan for Reunification

Get a certificate by completing the program.

About

Reunification is a primary goal in cases where children are removed from their caregivers due to abuse or neglect. This process allows parents the opportunity to use available resources to create a safe home environment for their children. Most children desire to be with their parents and hope they will make the necessary changes to reunite the family. This training will explore why reunification is prioritized for children in foster care and how case plans are developed to address the concerns identified during investigations. Participants will hear from DCFS representatives Tawyna Moore and Natasha Fossett about the assessment process used to determine the steps parents must take to achieve reunification. By understanding these aspects, CASA staff and volunteers will be better equipped to support and advocate for the children and families involved in the court system.
