Training of Facilitators

About the Training:

Volunteers are the lifeblood of CASA programs and the foundation of the National CASA/GAL Association’s CASA programs’ core model for advocacy. One of the greatest impacts you will have in preparing your volunteers for this vital and challenging work is through pre-service training.

CASA training facilitators can prepare to lead new volunteer training by attending a training of facilitators session. Louisiana CASA is dedicated to ensuring that each program has access to relevant adult learning and skills-based facilitator training in order to maximize your volunteers’ learning and preparation, which will, ultimately, improve the outcomes of the children you serve.

Lodging and Meals:

For participants in need of lodging, Louisiana CASA has reserved 15 rooms at Best Western Plus in Lake Charles. Rooms are avialable at a first come, first serve basis. Programs with multiple staff attending the training are encouraged to occupy two attendees per room. When you register, there will be a question to indicate if you need a hotel room. If yes, Ms. Wanda will book your room. Breakfast will be provided by the hotel.

This TOF training will be held November 15-16, 2023 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Louisiana CASA will cover the cost of meals and hotel rooms for up to 20 participants.

• The grant secured by Louisiana CASA covers the nights of November 14th and 15th. Check out is on November 16th.
• Breakfast will be provided by the hotel.  Lunch will be provided by Louisiana CASA for both days of the training (November 15th and 16th).

The TOF Training Schedule:

• Wednesday, November 15th - 8:00AM - 4:00PM
• Thursday, November 16th - 8:00AM - 4:00PM

Stephanie Breeden, LMSW, Director of Member Services for Louisiana CASA, will be the trainer for this event. 

Participants must register by November 1, 2023.
