This practical training guides staff and volunteers through what happens when a child is admitted to an in-patient psychiatric or behavioral health facility. Participants will learn how to access information, interpret medical recommendations, and provide advocacy before, during, and after a child’s treatment stay.


What You’ll Learn:

  • How to read and interpret in-patient discharge summaries and recommendations

  • How caregivers can support follow-up care and stability post-discharge

  • CASA’s role in advocating for appropriate placements and services

  • Navigating access to documentation with confidentiality in mind
