This training dives into the effects of trauma on children and how CASA volunteers can support children navigating anger, fear, confusion, and grief. It will also explore adolescent suicide risks and strategies for emotionally connecting with children from birth to 18 during visits.


What You’ll Learn:

  • How to guide children through anger and emotional triggers

  • Warning signs and prevention strategies for adolescent suicide

  • Tips to engage children at different developmental stages

Advocacy with Heart: Supporting the Whole Child and Family

Louisiana CASA is excited to offer a webinar series specifically for CASA staff and volunteers to enhance advocacy for children across the state. This series focuses on trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and family-centered advocacy that supports healing, growth, and long-term success for children of all ages. This webinar is open to active CASA staff and volunteers only.


About the Speaker: Katie Fries, LCSW, RPT, CCTP-II

Katie Fries, LCSW, RPT, CCTP-II, is the founder of All of You Therapy, LLC and a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She specializes in helping women, children, and families heal from trauma and strengthen healthy relationships through a relational, body-oriented, and experiential approach. Katie is a Registered Play Therapist, Certified Gestalt Therapist, and Certified Complex Trauma Treatment Professional, with extensive training in modalities such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, AEDP, Theraplay, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.


Her passion for supporting young women began during her time at Rutgers University, where she earned her MSW with a certification in Violence Against Women and Children. Today, she integrates her knowledge of child development and trauma to support both children and adults, empowering clients to transform unwanted behaviors into adaptive responses and fostering compassion between parents and children. Katie also serves on the Board of Peter’s Place, a children’s grief organization, and is committed to ongoing learning and supervision to best support her clients’ journeys toward healing and self-understanding.
