Louisiana CASA is proud to announce that our Executive Director, Amanda Moody, has been named Chair of the Children’s Cabinet Advisory Board, a significant leadership role that elevates the voice of child advocacy at the highest levels of state government.
The Advisory Board plays a critical role in shaping policies and recommendations that impact children and families across Louisiana. As Chair, our Executive Director will lead a diverse group of stakeholders and work closely with the Louisiana Children’s Cabinet to help guide statewide priorities, improve coordination across agencies, and ensure that the needs of Louisiana’s children remain front and center.
This appointment represents a meaningful step forward for CASA programs statewide. For decades, CASA volunteers have served as dedicated advocates for children in foster care providing consistent support, informed recommendations to the court, and a voice for each child’s best interests. Now, that same perspective will help inform decisions that shape systems, services, and outcomes on a broader scale.
Through this leadership role, Louisiana CASA will help strengthen the connection between community-based advocacy and state-level decision-making. By bringing the real experiences of children and volunteers into these conversations, we can help ensure that policies are not only effective, but grounded in the realities faced by the children and families they are meant to serve.
We are honored to represent the CASA network in this capacity and remain committed to working collaboratively with partners across Louisiana to improve outcomes for children and families.
