Make an Impact in Louisiana: CASA Recruiting AmeriCorps VISTA Members

Looking for a meaningful way to serve your community and gain valuable professional experience?

Louisiana CASA Association is recruiting individuals across Louisiana to become AmeriCorps VISTA members and serve with local CASA programs.

We are currently seeking candidates in West Baton Rouge, Hammond, DeRidder, and other communities across the state.

What is AmeriCorps VISTA?

AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program that places members with nonprofit organizations and public agencies to help strengthen programs, build capacity, and create long term solutions in communities.

VISTA members serve full time for at least one year, gaining hands on professional experience while helping organizations expand their impact.

What will CASA VISTA members do?

Through Louisiana CASA's CASA Capacity Building and Volunteer Recruitment VISTA Project, members will work alongside local CASA programs to strengthen volunteer recruitment, community engagement, and public awareness.

Activities may include:

• Developing and supporting volunteer recruitment strategies

• Building relationships with community partners

• Increasing awareness of CASA and its mission

• Supporting outreach campaigns and community engagement

• Developing recruitment materials and resources

• Strengthening systems that support volunteer recruitment and retention

• Connecting CASA programs with businesses, civic organizations, colleges, churches, and other community partners

CASA volunteers advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are involved in the child welfare system. By helping local programs recruit and engage more volunteers, VISTA members will help strengthen CASA's ability to serve children throughout Louisiana.

AmeriCorps VISTA members receive:

• A living allowance during service

• Training and professional development

• Health coverage benefits

• Childcare assistance for those who qualify

• Relocation assistance when eligible

• A choice of an education award or end of service cash stipend after successfully completing service

• Valuable experience in nonprofit work, communications, community engagement, volunteer recruitment, and program development
