As part of our commitment to quality and support, we conduct regular site visits to evaluate program performance, offer technical assistance, and collaborate on strategies for continuous improvement.​

What to expect

The Louisiana CASA Association (LACASA) is dedicated to the support and enhancement of local Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs across Louisiana. Our goal is to provide sustainable resources, training, partnerships, and funding to ensure that every child with active Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases in Louisiana receives one-on-one advocacy from a committed CASA volunteer.

This Membership Agreement outlines the roles, responsibilities, and commitments of both Louisiana CASA and the local CASA programs.

Member Services

Technical Assistance

LACASA offers technical assistance to help programs serve children more effectively and can provide guidance and tools to assist with quality program management.

Website Development

LACASA also provides web development and design services to local programs, ensuring they have professional and functional websites that effectively communicate their mission and attract volunteers and supporters.

Legislative Support

LACASA provides legislative support and a Legislative Committee to speak on behalf of Member Programs regarding issues affecting their programs and children that are consistent with CASA’s mission.

Resource Development

LACASA supports local programs in their fundraising and resource development efforts by providing guidance, tools, and training to enhance their capacity to secure funding. LACASA does not fundraise or seek resources on behalf of local programs but assists them in developing effective fundraising strategies.

Reporting to Programs

LACASA provides quarterly reports to member programs detailing our activities, including updates on advocacy efforts, training opportunities, data collection, and other relevant initiatives to keep local programs informed and engaged.

Training and Networking

LACASA provides annual training, continuing education, Core Model coaching, and Training of Facilitators, as well as training specific to Member Program Boards of Directors. Additionally, LACASA offers training programs for staff and volunteers, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their roles effectively and adhere to best practices. LA CASA also provides networking opportunities for the statewide network that supports collaboration and relationship building amongst the local CASA programs. The opportunities include but are not limited to CASA Collabs, Advocate Supervisor Roundtables, Annual CASA Conference, Executive Leadership meetings, etc.

Recruitment and Awareness

LACASA coordinates recruitment efforts through social media and the statewide website to support the recruitment of CASA volunteers and raise awareness. We also distribute monthly marketing toolkits including social media, graphics, topic ideas, captions, press releases, and more to the member programs. Member Programs may use LACASA-created content for their recruitment and awareness efforts. LACASA develops strategic partnerships to assist with public awareness. LACASA conducts statewide recruitment campaigns through television, radio, billboard, and print ads, as funds are available, to enhance the visibility of CASA programs and attract more volunteers.

Funding and Grants

LACASA provides the Louisiana Legislature with information regarding the funding needs of the Louisiana CASA Network through written and oral testimony, aiming to create a funding stream from state funds that supports the Core Model of CASA in Louisiana. LACASA works directly with the Louisiana Supreme Court in their efforts to request legislative funding for the statewide CASA network.

Resource Hub

LACASA provides documents, samples, tools, and templates in one accessible location for Member Programs. Local programs have access to our member portal through the LACASA website, which includes a comprehensive resource library, training materials, and other valuable information to support their operations.

Statewide Website 

LACASA staff updates and manages a statewide website that provides valuable information about CASA and its programs. The LACASA website links with Member Programs' websites and provides contact information. Potential volunteers may submit inquiries to the program of their choice through the LACASA website.

Graphic Design Services

LACASA offers graphic design services to local programs, providing professionally designed materials for marketing, outreach, and advocacy efforts.

Data and CQI

LACASA leads collaborative data collection efforts to show CASA effectiveness in Louisiana and supports programs in using data to drive decision-making and improvement. LACASA provides tools and training for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), helping local programs to assess their performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.

Maintaining the Network

The goal for any CASA program is to ensure that all eligible children have access to CASA services. With 100% of geographical coverage already achieved in Louisiana, LACASA focuses on maintaining the strength and effectiveness of the existing network of CASA programs. Our goal is to support and assist the local CASA programs in providing CASA services to all eligible children. LACASA provides ongoing support to ensure sustainability, operational excellence, and adherence to best practices across all local programs.
