Louisiana CASA is honored to recognize Raquel Wade as the 2025 DCFS Staff Member of the Year for her extraordinary dedication, compassionate advocacy, and unwavering commitment to children and families.

A standout professional within the Department of Children and Family Services, Raquel has earned a reputation as a trusted partner and fearless advocate. With over two and a half years of collaborative experience alongside CASA of Terrebonne, she has become an essential ally to the CASA team, offering transparency, mutual respect, and constant support in the shared mission to protect vulnerable children.
Raquel brings not only skill and professionalism to every case but also a heart for service. She is known for reaching out to CASA on difficult cases, relying on Advocates as trusted collaborators, and always keeping the child’s best interest at the center of her work. “She is truly an ally of CASA,” said Lead Advocate Supervisor Jenny Domanque. “Her ability to communicate openly and work seamlessly with CASA, foster families, and child welfare partners makes her an invaluable asset to the field.”
Her dedication consistently goes above and beyond. Whether responding after hours or conducting unannounced visits based on CASA recommendations, Raquel approaches her role with determination and integrity. In one case, her investigative efforts led to the discovery of a parent’s misrepresentation of their living situation, directly ensuring the child’s safety. And in another, she remained calm and resolute in the face of a threatening parent who arrived at her office with a weapon—never once wavering in her mission to protect.
“Raquel possesses the investigative skills of a detective, the sharp eyes of an eagle, the memory of an elephant, and—most importantly—the heart of CASA,” shared Advocate Supervisor Edward Olivier. “She is fair, unbiased, and relentless in her pursuit of what is best for the children in her care.”
Her work has not only changed the lives of the children and families she serves, but also inspired everyone fortunate enough to work beside her. Her commitment, courage, and compassion make her an exemplary representative of DCFS—and a powerful force for good in Louisiana’s child welfare system.
Louisiana CASA is proud to honor Raquel Wade as the 2025 DCFS Staff Member of the Year.
